Hi! My name is Funso (pronounced fun-show) and I am a portrait photographer from London, UK.
As someone who has been actively pursuing photography as a hobby for over six years, it is safe to say I know my way around a camera. I fell in love with portrait photography for many reasons but being able to capture intimacy in an alternative way to the mainstream definition is definitely a main reason.
My experience as a signed curve model means I know how it feels on both sides of the camera, so am able to guide models if required. I am proud to say that so far, everyone I have shot with has emphasised how comfortable they felt while shooting with me and I hope to continue this trend! As a model (and a curve model especially), it is still common to see our bodies manipulated and distorted to fit Eurocentric beauty standards, which is why I commit to using no airbrushing or photoshop unless it is requested by the model (even if it is requested it is the bare minimum i.e. erasing spots and blemishes).
Personal projects are always on a collaborative basis, but shoots have standard rates. At the moment, I am open to collaborations with those who identify as BAME on my project THE (POST)COLONIAL SUBJECT. To enquire about either, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. I am based in Brighton/London currently but am open to enquiries outside of these locations. I look forward to hearing from you!
